Moosehead Bar & Grill and East Coast Wings Take Home Top Honors
Festival organizers announced today that Moosehead Bar & Grill was selected as the Festival Favorite of the Carolina Wing Festival which was held at the Metrolina Trade Show Expo on September 17th. Moosehead sold the most chicken wings at the festival – including some with a Thai Peanut Butter & Jelly wing sauce.
With the victory, Moosehead Bar & Grill wins an automatic entry to represent the Carolinas at the National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, NY next Labor Day Weekend.

The Super Bowl of Wings Launches National Competition Saturday at Metrolina Expo
CHARLOTTE, NC– A renowned wing festival that’s earned national attention will come to Charlotte on Saturday, Sept. 17. The so-called “Super Bowl of Chicken Wings” visits the Metrolina Trade Show Expo from noon to 10 p.m.
Nearly 20 of the Carolina’s top chicken wing eateries will serve 50 kinds of wings to determine which are the best in the Carolinas. The restaurants
will compete for awards in five different sauce categories. The overall winner earns a free trip to Buffalo, N.Y., to represent the Carolinas at the 2012 National Buffalo Wing Festival.
Besides the cooking, the Carolina Wing Fest will include crazy contests, such as the Carolina Wing Eating Championship and the hilarious “Bobbing for Wings.” There will also be a Kid Zone and live music.

Drew Cerza, Buffalo's "wing king", is taking his act on the road.
Cerza is creating two mini chicken wing festivals in Pittsburgh and Charlotte respectively to not only promote his own National Buffalo Wing Festival but also as means to reach out to former area residents and entice them to return, at the very least, for a visit.
